Green Church | Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rejoice! (Simon-Peter)
What does the Bible say about taking care of the Earth? What is the Christian view on climate change? What can you do to make a difference? Connecting science, Scripture, and personal stories, author Rebekah Simon-Peter explores these questions. In this thought-provoking exploration, Green Church's use of Scripture and science reminds us of our responsibility to creation and, even more importantly, that we are truly an integral part of creation. Building upon the traditional conservation concepts of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, Green Church adds the scriptural elements of Repentance, Reclamation, and finally, Rejoicing in God's world.
Helpful sidebars including, Things to Think About, Spotlight on Science, Green Facts, and Greening the Church, share both fascinating facts and ways that each of us can truly make a difference in creation today.
"Green Church is the most direct. . .no-nonsense argument I have yet seen for the holy obligation to Christian greenness. This and its companion volume, 7 Simple Steps to Green Your Church, should be 'must reads' for every church in North America." - Phyllis Tickle, author of The Great Emergence: How Christianity is Changing and Why
"I can't imagine a church of any size that will not benefit from using this book. It is lively, easy to read, and wonderfully practical. Get it, and use it!" - J. Ellsworth Kalas, author of Parables from the Back Side
